Ann Wilde
Junior Tennis Coordinator and Adult League Coordinator
Emily Schaefer
Executive Director
Emily Schaefer recently retired from the City of Houston Parks & Recreation Department after 22 years as its director of tennis. The native Houstonian brings a lifetime of tennis involvement to HTA. She has been a teaching professional, collegiate coach, a competitive player, USTA Texas president and volunteer and USTA volunteer, currently serving as a director at large for the USTA national board for 2021-2022. Ann Wilde
Junior Tennis Coordinator and Adult League Coordinator
Ann has been an HTA league player since 2007. She has advanced to sectionals as well as earning finalist and champion titles for the HTA Fall Festival and HTA Open Tournaments. In addition, Ann has served as a volunteer for West Houston Ladies Tennis Association for several years, with three years serving on the board and as President. Melinda Hampton
Assistant League Coordinator
A long-time member of the Houston tennis community, Melinda joined the Houston Tennis Association staff in September of 2014. Duties include assisting with facilitating HTA adult and junior leagues, and as a tournament site director. She played league tennis for many years, captained teams for the Houston Ladies Tennis Association and the West Houston Ladies Tennis Association. After serving as a WHTLA level coordinator for 5 years, she served 3 years on the executive board as League Coordinator and President. (281) 580-8313 x 1004 melinda.h@houstontennis.org
Daryl Hall
Accountant
Daryl is the Houston Tennis Association’s Accountant. She has been employed by the HTA since 2007 and has worked not only in the accounting department but also as a Singles League Coordinator. She’s volunteered for the HTA for over 20 years as a Level Coordinator, Treasurer, Tournament Site Director, and as a league team captain. Daryl continues to participate in multiple USTA/HTA leagues and tournaments, and represented Texas in the finals of a USTA age-group league in 2014, playing for the national title. Amanda Collins
Office Assistant
Amanda joined the HTA team in 2018 after 15 years as an Administrative Assistant for a consulting engineering firm. She is a native Houstonian and enjoys meeting people in the tennis community while helping the office run smoothly with her administrative and organizational skills. Tournament Coordinator
Gloria Dial has been a Tournament Director since 2007. She started working for HTA as Tournament Coordinator in 2022. Gloria has served on the HTA board, the USTA Texas Board and Committees as well as USTA National committees. (281) 889-1050 gloria.d@houstontennis.org

Justin Hensley
Junior, Recreation and Outreach Coordinator
Justin Hensley is a recent graduate from Texas State University with a bachelor’s in marketing and professional sales. Justin had the privilege to be the Tennis Club President for three years in creating tournaments, managing facilities, and bring awareness and influence on the sport of tennis. Growing up in Houston playing Junior Team Tennis and multiple tournaments, his drive is to bring opportunities to all ages and backgrounds to better immerse players in the benefits and competitiveness in the sport of tennis. - This completed scholarship application form
- Parent/Guardian current year tax return (page 1 and 2 of 1040 only)
- Academic Transcript
- Two letters of recommendation from a teacher, coach or mentor
- List of extracurricular activities, tennis history, community service, and any job experience
- A typed personal statement addressing how the scholarship would benefit you (500 words or less)
- College Admission Letter
The 2024 application deadline is Friday, April 26, 2024.
